“Making Magic in My Garden” June Blakes combination of plants and colours in The Delta Sensory Gardens
“Magic in My Garden” for those who have either heard of, or seen the amazing colour displays in June Blake’s Garden in County Wicklow, this is a great opportunity to find out more about the different plant and colour combinations that make this garden so unique. June explains how to create colour and magic in your own gardening space through a range of flowers including tulips, mostly in shades of red, orange, black and purple. With a keen interest in growing dahlias from seed, June highlights the incredible variety of colours that can be created from red to orange, pink, purple, yellow and everything in between! For those gardeners who shy away from the use of yellow in the garden, June’s case is strong and a fabulous presentation features yellow dahlias combined with daisy-like, yellow-orange flowers and lots more. This informative presentation ends with a tour of the Delta Sensory Gardens by June.
June Blake
June Blake has been gardening for over 20 years at her garden in Tinode, Blessington in County Wicklow. Previously she was a jeweller and sheep farmer. Her garden covers about three acres and is designed around a 19th century steward’s house and farmyard. In spring the garden is famous for its tulip display and later for a display of dahlias from seed mixed with lots of interesting perennials. Her main interest is combining colour combinations with her plants. The farm buildings now consist of award-winning accommodation, a tearoom and plant sales area.
