Botanical Art Workshop
Golden Daffodils
Saturday, 27th April 2019 9:00 am – Sunday, 28th April 2019 12:00 am, Burtown House
Indulge your love of nature and art on this two-day botanical art workshop painting daffodils with award-winning artist, Shevaun Doherty.
Burtown House is the family home of one of Ireland’s greatest botanical artists, the late Wendy Walsh, and her garden is famous for the swathes of golden daffodils that herald the arrival of spring.
This workshop will teach you the various watercolour techniques needed to paint daffodils. We will begin with observational drawing and tonal studies, before moving on to how to use layers of colour in wet-on-wet, glazing and dry brush to convey realistic light and form.
An experienced tutor, Shevaun will demonstrate her painting techniques as well as giving practical advice on how to set up botanical subjects for painting, how to choose the right colours, and how to finish and present your artwork.
Whether you are a beginner or simply wish to improve your painting skills, this class will encourage and inspire you to paint. Class numbers are limited to ensure that each person gets individual support.
