Situated in the South East of Ireland, approximately 90kms from the ferry and airports of Dublin, Rosslare and Waterford, Carlow is the ideal location for a gardening break. Its central location also offers the perfect base to explore the bordering counties of Wexford, Kilkenny, Wicklow, Kildare and Laois.

"Budding and experienced gardeners can look forward to a very special occasion in August 2008, when Carlow’s Garden Trail Festival celebrates its 7th year as the South-East’s premier gardening event. For the gardener, the festival is an extravaganza of flowers and gardens featuring informative lectures and demonstrations by some of the top names in Irish gardening circles. The festival also affords you the opportunity to visit Carlow’s recently established Garden Trail showcasing 16 different gardening attractions, including great old gardens that have been lovingly restored and maintained throughout the years, and smaller gardens which are maturing beautifully with time"
