The Delta Centre run a very busy garden centre with a wide range of shrubs and plants for sale. They also stock hanging baskets and window boxes and a range of garden accessories which include garden ornaments and fountains. Whatever the season you will find suitable plants – bulbs for spring and autumn flowering, bedding plants in summer, herbaceous perennials and of course shrubs for all year round interest. Expert horticultural advice is on hand from highly qualified and friendly staff.
A combination of both formal and informal landscapes allow visitors to meander round at will, watch splashing fountains and waterfalls, enjoy herbs and perfumed plants, many in raised beds (suitable for access by wheelchair), watch fish, reflect on sculptures, or simply sit around and enjoy flowers and foliage. Dreams come true at the Delta Centre, Carlow. The Delta Sensory Gardens are Carlow’s best-kept secret and an Oasis of Peace, Beauty and Tranquillity for all to enjoy. The gardens consist of a series of interconnecting gardens of a multi – sensory nature covering 2.5 acres. The first of its kind in Ireland, Delta Centre combines the attraction of a tourist facility with a therapeutic focus and benefit for people of all ages and abilities. Dreams really do come true…On Sat 12th April 2008, the Delta Centre will play host to the wonderful Share a Dream Foundation who make dreams come true for hundreds of children with life threatening illnesses all over Ireland. Twenty Five very special children from all over the country along with their families will be guests of the Share a Dream Foundation in Carlow for the weekend. They will stay in the beautiful Talbot Hotel, enjoy the fantastic facilities of the Dome Entertainment Centre and be treated to a day of fun, laughter friendship and support at the beautiful Delta centre where they will have a party on Sat 12th April 2008 between 1-3 pm.“It is absolutely wonderful that so many caring people have come together to give these very special children and their families a weekend of pure magic,” said Founder of SADF Mr Shay Kinsella. There will also be a fundraiser held at the Delta Centre which is a ticket event and includes food, drink, music, entertainment and a tour of the magnificent 2.5 acre award-winning sensory gardens and is being held from 3pm to 6pm. All proceeds will go to the Share a Dream Foundation to help make more dreams a reality for terminally ill children. The Delta Experience is being organised by the 4th year International Business Students from the Institute of Technology, Carlow and must be applauded for all the time and effort they have put into making the Dream Visit really special.
