Opening of the new Physics Bed in the Medicinal Courtyard by Dermot O’ Neill, followed by a reflective talk on the healing benefits of plants.
 
Venue: Kilgraney House and Herb Gardens, Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow. Time: 2 p.m. Admission: Day ticket €10 in aid of Friends of Wexford General Hospital. Refreshments served at 4 p.m.
 

Herbal Walk and Talk

Herblicious at Kilgraney House and Herb Gardens Kilgreaney, Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow with Aine McAteer, cookbook, author, Irish Independent columnist and personal chef.
 
Dermot will lead visitors through the gardens identifying herbs that are commonly used for culinary, medicinal and aromatherapy purposes. Dermot will also collect plant cuttings for the propagation demonstration during this talk.

Propagating Herbs and Plants

In a hands-on demonstration, Dermot O’ Neill will discuss the propagation of herbs and plants from the garden.
 
Venue: Kilgraney House and Herb Gardens, Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow. Time: 4.30 p.m. Refreshments served at 4 p.m.

 

Blooming Art - Competition and Exhibition at Kilgraney Studio Gallery

An exhibition of all things floral selected from an open submission by local and regional artists. The exhibition will be held at Kilgraney Studio Gallery from 31st July to 14th August to coincide with Carlow Garden Festival and Kilkenny Arts Week. A 'Best in Show' based on a public vote will be awarded at the end of the exhibition, on Sunday 14th. The Exhibition opens on Sunday 31st July at 4.00 p.m. and all are welcome.

Facilities: Car park (unsuitable for coaches), toilets, restricted access for wheelchairs. Accommodation with evening meal available. Unsuitable for children, no dogs allowed.

Directions: Situated just off the R705. Kilgraney is halfway between Bagenalstown (Muine Bheag) and Borris.

Opening times: April – September, Thursday – Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Groups by appointment.

Admission fee: €5.00 per person, with a complimentary herbal infusion.
