Lucy’s Wood with June Blake
A new addition to the Carlow Garden Festival for 2016. Join June Blake for a guided tour of this fantastic two acre garden, first developed by Erika and Werner Marten over the past 20 years and which, in the meantime has been transformed into a large lawn area with long borders of wonderful trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants. There are individually themed island beds and features, incorporating a wide selection of planting styles as well as a restored cottage garden, first created by Miss Evelyn Booth, previous owner. The borders and island beds include many varieties of roses, rhododendrons, magnolias, eremurus, irises and lilies and a visit is well worthwhile for the experienced gardener or those just starting out on their gardening journey.
